How To Clean Interior Of Car With Household Products
How To Clean Interior Of Car With Household Products
There are a ton of ways to clean your vehicle using household products. All of these methods can be found online.
However, as a professional detail shop, we do not recommend using household products to clean or do any type of cleaning or detailing to your vehicle.
For the sake of this blog, we will cover some ways to clean your vehicle with products you can find at home. Please note you do so at your own risk.
We would recommend using our spotbot products to clean and detail your vehicle. After all, it’s created and designed for that specific task in hand.
Think about it.
If a doctor recommends Tylenol for a fever or a headache but you decide that you’d like to save a few cents and use something at home such as:
“Sprinkle cayenne pepper on your foods” over taking a few pills of Tylenol then chances are, you’ll be stuck with your fever/headache.
Anyways, let’s get into the write-up, we will cover some DIY methods found online and recommend our spotbot alternative.
Homemade Car Interior Cleaner
When it comes to your car interior there are numerous methods found online on how to clean and detail the interior.
One method shows using one part vinegar and one part water…YUCK! Imagine yourself wiping your car down with vinegar…yikes, especially your interior.
Now imagine yourself entering your car getting ready to take a long drive and having to smell vinegar all day.
Maybe you like the smell of vinegar but if you’re like most people, you’d probably want your car to smell fresh and clean and not like chicken adobo.
We have an alternative which was actually built and designed specifically for your vehicle’s interior.
This product is called Spotbot Reveal. Click Here to read more about spotbot reveal.
On another note, here are some cons as to why you shouldn’t use vinegar to clean your interior.
Vinegar Cleaning Cons:
- The smell (sometimes it will stick and it will take more time and work to get rid of it)
- It can’t kill germs
- Not built to cut through grease like a commercial product
- Vinegar isn’t as effective as you may think
- You will need to rinse away the vinegar
- It can potentially damage some surfaces
So take those into consideration the next time you decide you’d like to save yourself a few cents to clean your car with vinegar.
Dish Soap To Clean Car
Okay, first of all…here is why it’s a bad idea to clean your car using dish soap.
It will definitely clean your car and do a good job at it but it’s an abrasive soap.
What happens when you use an abrasive soap on something like your vehicle’s paint?
Well…it will accelerate the oxidation process and can even give your car a duller look.
Using dishwashing soap to wash your car will also break down your car’s wax coat and
is super harsh on the rubber exterior parts such as the molds and trim.
Instead, we would recommend using our Spotbot Cleanse or Spotbot Paradise.
